Tawtheeq is the National Authentication System (NAS), which was launched by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) in 2019. NAS serves as a national identity provider for all of tehe government online services. It deals with management and governance of the digital indentity individuals and businesses which use government e-services in Qatar.

Tawtheeq provides digital signing, a secure authentication, and Single-Sign-On (SSO). It represents a key component in the security and development of e-servies.

Requirements for Tawtheeq Registration

How to Create a Tawtheeq Account

Creating a Tawtheeq account is a fairly simple and easy process, that doesn’t require a lot of time and effort. Here are the steps on how you can create a new user account on Tawtheeq website:

Depending on whether you’re living in Qatar or just visiting, you choose the account type that suits you.

Those living in Qatar will choose ‘Qatar citizens and residents’, while those who are just visiting or they’re a business representative will choose ‘Visitors and business representatives’

Enter your Qatar ID and mobile number

After entering the captcha, click on ‘Continue’. After this step, you should be receiving an OTP verification code on your mobile phone.

If the mobile that received the code is not under your ownership, your account will still be created, but it won’t be active. To activate your account, you’ll have to contact the call center by dialing 109.

Enter the verification code that you’ve received on your mobile phone

After entering the verification OTP, click on ‘Continue’.

In case you haven’t received your code, you can request a new one by clicking on ‘Send new code’ option displayed.

Fill in your personal details

Another important step is to provide the service with your personal information. These personal details include Nationality, Name (Arabic or English), Date of Birth, Gender, National Address, P.O. Box, and your Email ID. After entering all your details, click ‘Continue’.

Note: you only need to fill in the name in one language (either English or Arabic).

Set a password

Enter and then re-enter your password for confirmation. After filling both fields, click ‘Continue’.

Confirmation message

After receiving your confirmation message, your Tawtheeq account will be activated and ready to use.

What to Do if Your Tawtheeq Qatar Account Gets Suspended

Tawtheeq accounts can get suspended due to number of reasons and if this happened to you – don’t panic. Here are steps on how to get your account back:

After entering the captcha, click on ‘Continue’, and then ‘Send verification code’. After this step, you should be receiving an OTP verification code on your mobile phone.

Enter the verification code that you’ve received on your mobile phone

After entering the verification OTP code, your Tawtheeq account will be reactivated and ready to use.

How to Reset Tawtheeq Qatar Password

We’ve all been there – forgetting your password to any platform and services happens to all of us, and it can easily happen with your Tawtheeq, too. In case you forgot your Tawtheeq password, here are steps on how you can reset it:

After entering the captcha, click on ‘Continue’, and then ‘Send verification code’. After this step, you should be receiving an OTP verification code on your mobile phone.

Enter the verification code that you’ve received on your mobile phone

After entering the verification OTP code, you can set a new password for your Tawtheeq account.

Tawtheeq Watar Mobile App

For those of you looking for an app that will make all of this even easier – there’s just a thing. Tawtheeq now has a mobile app that enables its users a secure one-time password (OTP) generation on your mobile app, while also allowing a single tab authentication approval.

You can get your Tawtheeq app from Google Play Store or Apple Store.

Launching your Tawtheeq application for the first time will require you to register your device. You can do this by simply login into your Tawtheeq account and all of the instructions will be provided to you on screen.

To approve the log-in to your account, you’ll have to be connected to the Internet. However, generation your OTP is available offline.

Another important thing to not is that you’ll have to give access to the Tawtheeq app to the phone and location. This is an important step as the app uses these to identify the user device ID and location.
