Doha, October 17 (QNA) – HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, and HE Vice President for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Mohsen Rezaei, who is currently visiting the country, inaugurated today the QI International Trade Fair for Iranian Products, which is being held at Katara Cultural Village, and will continue until Oct.19, in the presence of a number of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry members, the Association of Qatari Businessmen and owners of Iranian companies.

After the opening ceremony, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry and HE Vice President for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran toured the fair, during which they inspected a number of the pavilions of the participating companies displaying their products.

The fair aims to introduce the most important Iranian industries and display the products of Iranian companies in a number of fields, most notably food products, carpets, oil and gas derivatives, petrochemical products, textiles and leather products.

The fair will also witness the organization of a number of accompanying side events, in addition to holding bilateral meetings between businessmen from both sides, during which the available investment opportunities will be reviewed and ways to build long-term economic cooperation mechanisms between Qatari and Iranian companies will be discussed.

On the sidelines of the launching of the fair, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry met with HE Vice President for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, where the meeting touched on topics of common interest with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of trade, investment and industry.

During the meeting, HE the Minister highlighted the successful economic policies established by the State of Qatar to support the private sector, indicating the incentives, legislation and promising opportunities available in the country aimed at encouraging investors, businessmen and owners of companies to invest in the State of Qatar.
