Doha, October 19 (QNA) – Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) announced that it is attending the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse), which takes place from Oct. 19-23.
The Frankfurter Buchmesse where the international publishing community gathers from all over the world to partake in vibrant cultural exchange.
This year, the Frankfurt Bookfair is focusing on the art of translation in its many shapes; translation of language in the classical tradition is certainly a cultural mainstay, but as the publishing world evolves and digitizes, a new form of translation between different forms of media and context also begins to develop.
In ensuring its attendance, HBKU Press reinforces its presence in the worldwide network of top publishing organizations as it continues to blaze through the frontiers of literature and culture.
Executive Director of Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press Bachar Chebaro said: “HBKU Press is eager to reaffirm its place in the publishing community as a buyer and seller of book rights, as well as a top MENA publisher with a unique house of talents.”
He added: “Our aim at the start of this book fair season is to strengthen our already existing relationships with other publishers from around the world, as well as form new ones to expand the reach of our award-winning catalogue.”
The HBKU Press catalogue contains a host of acclaimed titles, with works receiving awards in categories recognizing content in both English and Arabic as well as original illustrations.
In addition to participating in the global rights exchange, HBKU Press also remains committed to promoting its authors and proudly providing exposure to the creative talents that routinely work with the press.
As the FIFA 2022 kick-off date draws near next month, HBKU Press is particularly excited to share its expanded sports literature category to meet the growing industry interest and demand.
Making its debut at the Frankfurt Book Fair this year is a collection of newly printed books celebrating the comradery and culture of sports in general and the universal love of football in particular.
The catalogue proudly features educational and inspirational books for adults and children alike as they gear up for the upcoming FIFA tournament.
Books are published across a wide variety of genres from stirring biographical narratives to moving fiction for all ages, written mainly by talented Qatari and Arab authors as well as translated and original works from creative voices all over the world.
The HBKU Press booth is located in hall 4, stand H42 at the fair.
The 74th Frankfurt Book Fair, where nearly 4,000 exhibitors from 95 countries participate, chose Spain as the Guest of Honor. The Frankfurter Buchmesse resembles a platform that gathers publishing experts with partners from the technology sector and creative industries.
