Doha, October 20 (QNA) – FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Security Committee concluded Thursday the tabletop exercises (TTX) that were implemented by the entities participating in the exercise “Watan 2022” within the framework of the preparations made to initiate the field exercises on Oct. 24, 2022.
In addition, a broad range of leaders, professionals and experts had participated in the tabletop exercises to review the detailed and operational plans and goals, in addition to the participation of all military and civilian entities and the forces from the sisterly and friendly countries with the intention of attaining the highest levels of training and implementation for the training scenarios, and ensuring the readiness and the coordination level among all participating units and entities.
Within this framework, Assistant Commander of the Operational Exercise Lt Col Abdullah Muhammad Al Hail clarified that the tabletop exercises lasted for three consecutive days through which the overall scenarios and hypotheses related to FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, including the work procedures for each hypothesis, were discussed in order to achieve the exercise’s objectives that entail the promotion of the concerned entities’ role when they embark on discharging their normal functions and the added tasks during the tournament to measure the rapid emergency response mechanisms, reinvigorate the mechanism of command and control and the joint cooperation among the wide spectrum of concerned entities to further achieve the integration of roles and carry out the required functions.
Lt Col Abdullah Muhammad Al Hail indicated that Watan 2022 exercise is the largest of its kind, in terms of the entities participating, whether internally or externally, in addition to the evolution of its events to combine between the security, military, organizational and service aspects, as well as the diversity and its sequential various scenarios that are based on different types of the potential internal or external risks,
He pointed out that the exercise sites include numerous different sites in the State of Qatar, including the competitive and noncompetitive facilities of the tournament, as well as a myriad of public, vital and tourist facilities and utilities. (QNA)
