Doha, October 24 (QNA) – The cultural index, issued by the Katara Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), had monitored the establishment of 694 various cultural events during the extended period from January 1, 2022, until September 30,2022, where the achievements and events varied between artistic exhibitions, heritage festivals, ceremonies, seminars, artistic workshops, trips, forums, lectures and others.
The cultural index highlighted several events that had been embraced by Katara over the past nine months of 2022, where roughly 68 artistic exhibitions were held and included nearly 627 pieces of art in which 122 artists had participated, in addition to embracing 19 cultural and heritage festivals and provided 15 plays and 50 live performances attended by over 22,760 visitors, including 18 concerts, 40 workshops and sessions that features 98 sessions, as well as 32 forums, 37 seminars and lectures along with 62 religious activities embraced by Katara Mosque and its halls.
In addition, this period witnessed the flocking of 2,216,036 visitors, among them 3,810 students within the trips and school visits, 48 school visits within “Our culture is school” program, in addition to numerous tourist groups that reached 109,500 tourists from around the world.
Katara had also received 62 of high-level personalities and official delegations to promote the relations and cultural exchange, and its index monitored the establishment of Katara 8 sports activities, the launch of several initiatives that were intended to support culture, literature and art, and the honoring of many distinguished personalities, in appreciation of its literary and artistic contributions, including its prominent role in serving culture, literature and art in the State of Qatar and the Arab world, among the most prominent of these initiatives the “Shield of the writer”, “Shield of authentic art”, and “Shield of antidote.”
In addition, the Katara’s electronic website witnessed substantial number of surfers and visitors, which reached 96,034, and the number of followers on Instagram reached 349,000 followers, on Twitter 419,000, and on Facebook 209,000 followers, and Katara had published 1947 news bulletins.
