Doha, October 27 (QNA) – Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) organized a workshop titled: “Introducing GS1 Qatar & global barcode” in cooperation with GS1 Qatar in Qatar Development Bank (QDB) within the framework of supporting the national economy through the industrial and service sectors.
In a statement Thursday, MOCI said that the workshop highlighted the topic of introducing the Global Standards (GS1) along with the service it offers for business solutions, and introducing GS1 system, rules of granting the products, services and places the global barcodes, alongside GS1 Qatar and the services it provides to the Qatari companies with the objective of spreading the awareness and introducing the unified global specifications system to the local companies and institutions, including the application mechanism in logistics and supply chains for the service of various sectors in the State of Qatar.
In addition, the workshop tackled the coding and tracking system after the State of Qatar had obtained the code 630 to ensure a unique and premium identification that offers the way to track and market the national products inside the country and abroad, which would contribute to increasing the exports with adherence to the global requirements.
