Doha, October 31 (QNA) – The Ministry of Social Development and Family organized the “Community Partnership Forum”; to discuss the challenges and the latest developments facing social and family development, in the presence of a number of different parties and community groups, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
The Community Partnership Forum is part of a series of activities supporting the construction and design of the Social and Family Development Strategy 2023 / 2030; with the aim of involving the relevant authorities to determine the priorities of their work during the coming period within the competences of the Ministry.
It also comes within the ministry’s endeavors to achieve the objectives of the social development pillar in Qatar National Vision 2030 to achieving family cohesion, highlighting the participation methodology with the audience, and setting priorities and formulating recommendations through the participation of stakeholders and jurisdiction with the aim of exchanging ideas and a deeper understanding of the challenges, spreading awareness and enriching understanding of the role of the Ministry of Social Development and the Family.
In this context, Assistant Undersecretary for Social Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Kuwari stated that the forum came within the framework of the efforts exerted to strengthen the relationship and partnership with opinions and proposals that are taken into consideration to improve any work.
Al Kuwari indicated, in a special statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the forum is considered one of the stages of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, and it constitutes an important part of the stage of preparing the strategic development plan for the State of Qatar 2023 / 2030, noting that the responsibility entrusted to the Ministry is to involve all segments of society in the planning process and to address negative phenomena in society.
He noted that the Ministry of Social Development and the Family seeks to confront the most important challenges and find solutions that are reflected in strategic plans based on results that are linked to important initiatives, adding that this forum participates with the groups of society or the beneficiaries of social services in the country, whether they are individuals or institutions, to reach results that meet the aspirations, especially since it is important to benefit from all the achievements made by the State of Qatar recently, and to show them in line with the importance of upcoming events, most notably the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
He pointed out that there is great importance for the participation of different groups in the planning stage for the future, in order to ensure that everyone benefit from experiences and expertise, and to listen to the observations and opinions that enhance strategic planning. In addition to the importance of focusing on moving categories of care from a state of receiving to empowerment, production and contributing to development, while preserving the family as an infrastructure in society that promotes positive values, and seeks to reduce negative phenomena, through partnership with civil society institutions and the development of our policies to reach initiatives and programs that align with the ministry’s strategy.
In turn, Hamad bin Ali Al Jarhab, supervisor in the Public Relations and Communication Committee at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, confirmed that this forum is an opportunity for all specialists and those interested in the social development file, to present their vision and ideas, for the Ministry to support and study the possibility of developing it, and formulating it into an initiative that can be converted into successful projects that achieve benefit and benefit to the community.
Al Jarhab said that the process of sharing opinions and suggestions is one of the main pillars for improving any work that requires interaction between the concerned parties associated with this work., therefore, the Ministry of Social Development and the Family realized the importance of public participation in all the work it carries out and the services it provides.
Regarding the general benefit of the forum, Training and Development Consultant at Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) Somaya Al Mutawa said that many solutions, proposals and future aspirations will be discussed during the three sessions of the forum, praising the general idea followed by the forum by inviting people from the field to formulate recommendations, to be worked on within the Ministry of Social Development and the Family.
Al Mutawa affirmed in her statement to QNA that the Ministry of Social Development and the Family seeks to find strict solutions to societal issues and challenges, which are presented through this important initiative, with the participation of more than 40 community institutions, to discuss files related to the family, children, security and social affairs, and other topics that were divided into 15 tables where community groups and representatives of those institutions sat during the forum’s work.
It is worth noting that the themes of the Community Partnership Forum were related to discussing the challenges facing the work of the Ministrys initiatives and programs, discussing solutions that help in developing the work of the Ministrys initiatives and programs, and presenting future aspirations.
Several parties related to social work participated in the forum, including the Qatar Foundation for Social Work and the centers under its umbrella: the Ministry of Health, Qatar University, the educational staff of master’s and graduate students in the field of social work, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Al Jazeera Network, Eid Charity Foundation, Red Crescent, Qatar Diabetes Association, Qatar Cancer Society, and Qatar Media Corporation.
