Doha, October 31 (QNA) – The Qatari Businesswomen Association launched the “100 Qatari Inspiring Women” initiative, which aims to introduce Qatari women icons and create a platform that allows them and all women in Qatar to exchange experiences, support and inspire younger generations.
The Association announced that the first results of this initiative will be the publication of a book dealing with 100 inspiring success stories of Qatari women who have been and still play a pivotal role in their various fields of work and activities. The initiative also includes creating digital content that documents, presents and celebrates the success stories of these women. It contributes to introducing them locally and internationally, as well as providing new opportunities, provided that this initiative continues every year by organizing various events to support women in Qatar.
In this context, HE Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States for Humanitarian Relief Affairs Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani said, at the launch ceremony that the publication of the book is an affirmation of the values of inspiration in life, reviewing the figures who have inspired her throughout her career in addition to her focus on volunteering and its role in inspiration through personal experience, noting that not every inspiration has a positive cause, as a person is exposed to painful and difficult but inspiring events during his journey, such as field visits to inspect the humanitarian conditions of refugees and displaced people in the camps or in the local community in the countries hosting them, which put you in unforgettable situations.
The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Arab League for Humanitarian Affairs also confirmed that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be the most inspiring event for all in Qatar.
For her part, Vice President of the Qatari Businesswomen Association Aisha Al Fardan said that since its establishment, the Association believes in the role of women and the importance of activating their status and participation in economic and social development, and through this initiative, it aims to honor and appreciate women in the way they deserve.
Talking about her book ‘100 Qatari Inspiring Women’ which is the first product of the initiative, she said that the 100 inspiring stories shed light on Qatari women who wanted to make a difference, look to the future with passion, and be pioneers in their various fields of work, or they extended their hands to those who need them in the humanitarian and social sectors.
In her speech, the Vice President of the Association also expressed her gratitude to Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser who paid great attention to all aspects aimed at highlighting the role of Qatari women and motivating them to advance their role in social and public life. She also referred to the great efforts that the State of Qatar has invested in enhancing the role of women, the strong educational infrastructure that placed males and females on an equal footing in schools and universities, and the ever-changing cultural ethos that gave more space for women to work and achieve.
For her part, Assistant General Manager, Head of Corporate Communications and Quality Assurance at Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) Mashaal Al Derham commend the role of the State and its institutions in empowering women through education, providing them with opportunities to set up businesses and enter into the field of entrepreneurship and scientific, technical and research fields, adding that there is successful and prominent female models who are a source of inspiration for ambitious young women, and motivate them to take on roles greater for the service of the country, its renaissance and development.
Member of the Board of Directors of Estithmar Holding Company Dr. Buthaina Al Ansari affirmed that the platform that was launched serves many strategic goals that are compatible with the goals included in the Qatar National Vision 2030. (QNA)
