Algiers, November 01 (QNA) – Head of the Health, Social Affairs, Labor and Vocational Training Committee in the People’s National Assembly (APN) (second chamber of the parliament) Khallaf Riyadh affirmed that laying the foundation stone for the Algerian-Qatari German Hospital project is an important and promising step in the way of strengthening cooperation between Qatar and Algeria in the health field.
Khallaf said in an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the Algerian-Qatari German Hospital project is a qualitative and positive investment, and it will constitute a breakthrough for the health system in the country and will contribute to advancing cooperation in the health field between the State of Qatar and Algeria.
He added that this project translates the Algerian efforts exerted to promote and develop the health sector in the country, explaining that the advancement of this sector is among the priorities of the Algerian leadership, to provide quality health services that meet the needs of Algerian citizens.
In turn, a parliamentary deputy in the APN and former head of the Health, Social Affairs, Labor and Vocational Training Committee Dr. Ali Rabij affirmed that the hospital project is a valuable opportunity to benefit from Qatari and German expertise in the health sector.
Dr. Rabij said in an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) that no country has ever concluded such a partnership in the Algerian health sector, expressing his belief that Qatar will leave its mark in this type of investment and record an investment precedent in this regard.
He added that this promising partnership between the two countries comes within the framework of the government’s orientation in Algeria towards reforming and developing the health sector, expecting a qualitative leap in this sector, especially in terms of building and developing hospitals to be of a global standard.
Dr. Ali Rabij also underlined that this project will open new horizons in the field of bilateral relations between the two countries in the health sector and prepare the Qatari investor with access to other investment sectors such as industry and agriculture, especially since the State of Qatar today constitutes a successful model in the Gulf and the Middle East in the field of investment.
He pointed out that the Algerians pin high hopes on this project, which is expected to provide quality medical services in the field of intractable surgeries, thus limiting the referral of patients for treatment abroad, emphasizing his confidence that it will be a successful experience in the field of health services in Algeria and open promising Arab partnerships in this field.
The Algerian parliamentarian also pointed out that this project represents an opportunity to benefit from the Qatari health experience and its expertise in developing the health sector, as well as in terms of training and qualifying medical and nursing cadres in Algeria.
At the conclusion of his statements to QNA, Dr. Ali Rabij hailed the amazing development witnessed by the health sector in the State of Qatar in terms of organization, management and the techniques used, pointing out that during his visit to Doha, he was closely briefed on the great achievements in this sector and the quality medical services it provides to citizens and residents that take into account the highest international standards.
