Sharjah, November 02 (QNA) – The work of the 6th edition of the Arab Publishers Conference kicked off Wednesday, on the sidelines of the 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), with Qatari participation.
During the conference, mechanisms and proposals for developing the Arab publishing sector were discussed, and to find innovative solutions to overcome the difficulties and challenges facing this sector to reach a better future that keeps pace with the rapid global developments, especially in the fields of modern technology.
The first day of the conference, which was organized by the Arab Publishers Association, witnessed the holding of four sessions under the titles: , expand the post-pandemic book market, address the impact of digitisation on copyrights, and formulate solutions to bridge the skills gap.

Director of the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum Riad Ahmed Yassin emphasized the importance of participating in such events and conferences, which contribute to gaining experiences and taking the opinions of experts in the field of publishing and distribution to develop the Qatari publishing sector.
He affirmed the forum’s interest in working on cooperation and strengthening joint relations between the heads of publishers’ unions and associations to raise the level of the publishing industry.
Four sessions will be held Thursday within the conference, with the participation and attendance of 35 publishers and speakers.
