Doha, November 03 (QNA) – Qatar National Library (QNL) organized today the Cultural Exhibition for the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA), as part of the Qatar-MENASA Year of Culture 2022, in the presence of Their Excellencies the ambassadors of Turkey, Sudan, Yemen, Tunisia and Sri Lanka to the State of Qatar.
The exhibition showcased many activities, including telling Yemeni traditional tales, and artistic and handicraft activities from Tunisia, Turkey and Sri Lanka, including the arts of coloring, decoration and drawing.
The exhibition also saw a panel session entitled “dialogue with an author” with Dr. Amir Taj Al Sir – a physician, novelist and poet – speaking about his poems and novels.
With a program full of events, panel sessions and traditional activities, the exhibition highlighted the heritage of nations in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia through.
The Director of Research and Learning Services at QNL Abeer Al Kuwari said that this exhibition comes within the library’s participation in the activities of the “Years of Culture” initiative, which aims to enhance and enrich cultural exchange with countries of the world and deepen understanding between nations and peoples.
HE Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the State of Qatar Ahmed Abdel-Rahman Mohamed Hassan Siwar Al Dahab hailed the opportunity offered by the QNL for Arab novelists and writers to highlight their literary production to transfer their creativity to others and to reflect their culture to the Qatari nationals and other residents in the country.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency said that Dr. Amir Taj Al Sir, during the dialogue with an author session, talked about his novels translated into several languages, pointing out that he was chosen because he is considered one of the most famous Sudanese novelists and to introduce Sudanese literature to Qataris and residents.
