Doha, November 05 (QNA) – The Qatar Football Association (QFA) inaugurated the Al Annabi Village event in Msheireb as part of its promotional campaign to support the Qatari national team in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

After playing Qatar national anthem, the official opening took place by raising the flag of Qatar in front of Msheireb Museums at 20:22 referring to the 2022 World Cup.

The event witnessed many activities for the fans, including a football corner, a mini-pitch, and online games, as well as an exhibition that showcases the Qatari team’s history and the most prominent achievements, in addition to a mural that includes many clippings from the official newspapers that narrate the successes achieved by the team. Qatar’s three cups were also presented, namely the 2019 Asian Cup and the 11th and 17th Gulf Cups. Qatar’s national team shirts from the various previous eras were also displayed.

The opening witnessed the presence of a large number of Al Adaam fans who enjoyed the various activities organized by QFA in cooperation with Qatar Shell.

Director of Marketing and Communications at Msheireb Properties, Dr. Hafez Ali, said that the village is the result of great cooperation between QFA and Shell to support the Qatari team in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, noting that the opening was special and its date bore a great symbolism (at 20:22) referring to the World Cup. He pointed out that the village will serve as a headquarters for the Qatari and resident fans who will stand behind the team in the World Cup.

The event includes many activities for the fans, as well as a distinguished exhibition containing many belongings of the Qatari team, including three cups that the team won, most notably the 2019 Asian Cup, which is the first continental title for Qatar, and recent and old photos of the players.

He explained that the village will receive fans daily from 4 pm until 11 pm and will continue until December 18, the final date of the World Cup, which coincides with Qatar National Day.

He pointed out that cooperation with QFA will not stop as there will be other activities during the next few days, which aim to support the national team, introduce the cultural and sports heritage of the State of Qatar, and focus on the achievements that have been made during the past years.

Dr. Hafez pointed out that Msheireb is an important Qatari achievement that integrates the historical heritage with the contemporary civilization in which the country lives, as it is a smart city that achieves sustainability, a key pillar in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. 

Al Annabi Village will host several events at the Msheireb Museums, including the pioneers of Qatari football and the qualitative shift that took place in the practice of the game, leading to the organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, with the aim of creating an encouraging platform for the public and fans of the Qatari team especially young people and school students who will learn about Qatar history, players, and achievements. The exhibition celebrates the achievements of the pioneers, which develops the spirit of belonging to the homeland and raises it in all fields, whether sports, economic, social, or cultural.
QFA Director of Marketing and Communications, Khaled Mubarak Al Kuwari, confirmed that the Al Annabi Village inauguration was carried out in cooperation with QFA partner Qatar Shell, which comes within the marketing and media plan to support the Qatari national team in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
He added that these various events and recreational activities offered to the fans, come within QFA’s strategy to support the team in its World Cup journey, expressing confidence that the loyal fans will stand on time to support the team and enjoy the various activities that will be presented to them in cooperation with our main partners and supporters.
QFA Director of Marketing and Communications praised the efforts of all the main sponsors and partners of QFA and supporters of the national team from various agencies, companies, and institutions, for their great endeavors that they constantly provide and their fruitful cooperation to support the national team and all the federation’s championships. 
QFA launched the promotional campaign to support the Qatari team in the World Cup, which included many activities in addition to the launch of the digital content platform with a new vision to support the Qatari team in the World Cup in a new and modern way directed to the football audience in its various segments to ensure communication with everyone, and provide content worthy of the national team and its wide audiences.
