Riyadh, November 07 (QNA) – Represented by the economic affairs sector (energy department) and in cooperation with the World Bank, the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held Monday a symposium on the World Bank’s report on energy and water entitled ‘Advancing Knowledge of the Water-Energy Nexus in the GCC Countries’, at the council’s General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of several experts from the World Bank and GCC countries.

During the symposium, participants stressed the importance of water, energy and food interdependence as one of the important principles for GCC water, food and energy security.

The symposium, which was attended by a number of researchers and academics in the field of water and energy, came out with many important recommendations that will be presented to the relevant committees. (QNA)
