Doha, November 08 (QNA) – The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) participated today in the International Forum on Non-Terrestrial Networks, which took place in Riyadh and attended by a group of an elite specialists and researchers in technology and investment from more than 130 countries.
The ( CRA) was represented by a group of specialists and researchers in this field, who participated through remote video communication technology.
The forum aims to promote and adopt innovations that will contribute to the development and diversification of the economy; It also helps to develop services that are expected to contribute in enabling the connection to the network for the unconnected people from all over the world.
The Governor of the Saudi Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Mohammed Saud Al Tamimi, stressed in his inaugural presentation, that space networks are effective in increasing coverage and linking hard-to-reach areas, and called for the expansion of their use in a responsible and sustainable way for the good of the humanity, and to protect the planet from the harmful effects of the space.
He pointed out the importance of continuing to enhance the field of communications, space and technology, through adopting and investing in future technologies. Further to implementing the experiments to provide innovative solutions in the field, and to advance the development by incorporating regulations to stimulate the sector to play its role in the fullest manner.
