Doha, November 08 (QNA) – The Ministry of Municipality signed on Tuesday an agreement with Oracle Corporation to develop all the ministry’s services provided to the public, as part of the ministry’s endeavor to achieve excellence and leadership in its services, through digital transformation, and provide proactive smart self-services to various sectors of beneficiaries, in the presence of HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie.
On behalf of the Ministry of Municipality, Director of Information System Department Hamda Abdulaziz Al Maadid signed the agreement. On behalf of Oracle Corporation, Director of Technology Hanan Idrisi signed the agreement.
In a press statement, HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the agreement aims to improve the various services provided by the ministry to the public, as part of its continuous endeavor to enhance work efficiency and achieve institutional excellence, through digital transformation and the provision of smart self-services to various beneficiary sectors.
This project, which includes 400 packages, is one of the most prominent projects that the ministry is working on, he said, adding that it will be active and ready to operate after about 8 months, while all packages and services will be ready to operate after two years.
His Excellency expressed his hope that the public (individuals and companies) will benefit from these services.
For his part, HE Assistant Undersecretary for Shared Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality Hamad Khalifa Al Khalifa said that, through this project as well as other projects, the ministry seeks to be a global leader among its category in achieving digital transformation and benefiting from modern technological innovations, in providing smart, proactive, safe and available services to all sectors of beneficiaries with great ease, noting that these projects come within the efforts made by the State of Qatar and its wise leadership to develop governmental bodies and enhance their efficiency.
He explained that the project to develop the ministry’s services provided to the public is considered one of its most important strategic projects, as it includes the development of all services provided to various sectors and fields in the country. Most prominent of which are municipalities, urban planning, agriculture and fisheries, public services and common services, he added.
The project will make a qualitative leap towards smart city solutions by developing 400 services, with a comprehensive development of all components of the technological infrastructure of services, including the creation of a unified and integrated electronic portal for services, and the provision of multiple electronic platforms for smooth communication and easy interaction, in addition to providing usage benefits that allow the beneficiary to determine the services they need, and a complete digital transformation of work procedures enhanced by artificial intelligence techniques characterized by proactivity, he noted.
For her part, Director of the Information System Department at the Ministry of Municipality Hamda Abdulaziz Al Maadid said that the most important advantages of the project are that it is based on technologies owned by the ministry after it invested in its establishment, and it will be implemented by Oracle Corporation, the manufacturer and developer of this technology, to ensure its implementation with the highest approved quality standards.
The project is characterized by its ability to improve customer experience via mobile devices and digital channels, build a comprehensive catalog of electronically integrated services with services and data sources for third parties involved in implementing services procedures, and enhance security and identity management to protect data, she said, pointing out through the services development project, about 400 services will be produced and developed out of the ministry’s total services.
