Doha, November 08 (QNA) – Qatar Charity announced Monday the foundation stone was laid for a qualitative Islamic center in Kosovo’s Labian with a total cost of QR 8 million.
The center comprises a three-story mosque, an Islamic cultural center and endowment shops. The foundation stone ceremony was attended by Assistant CEO for the International Operations and Programs sector at the QC Nawaf Al Ahmadi and the Grand Mufti of Kosovo Naim Ternava.
Al Ahmadi said in a press statement that the Islamic Center is a gift from the Qatari people to the people in Kosovo, and that Qatari donors will continue to extend their hands to the Kosovar people.
Ternava hailed the efforts of the State of Qatar in supporting the Kosovar people in all fields for more than 20 years, stressing the constructive role of the QC in implementing development and cultural projects that are in the interest of the stability of Kosovar society and spreading a culture of moderation.
Last month, the QC, with the support from benefactors in Qatar, laid the foundation stone for a health center in Kosovo.
Over 23 years, the QC’s projects for Kosovo have been implemented for 23 years in cooperation with government agencies.
These projects cover different segments of society, including health, education, water, economic empowerment, relief and social care.
The number of those sponsored by the QC has reached nearly 3350 in the field of education and training, more than 5500 people have benefited from the Qatar Training Center.
