Brussels, November 09 (QNA) – Trade unions in Belgium organized a national strike on Wednesday to protest against rising prices and to demand more purchasing power, in addition to protecting employees’ wages.
The Belgian website ‘Brussels Times’ stated that the national strike will affect companies and services across the country, noting that Brussels Airport has preemptively canceled more than half of the flights scheduled to leave on Wednesday, while Charleroi Airport announced that all commercial flights will be canceled today.
For its part, the Belgian Railways confirmed that disruptions are expected during the provision of services, and public transport companies in Brussels and the region (Flinders) announced major disruptions as a result of the national strike.
It is noteworthy that this is the fourth time that a national strike has been organized by trade unions in Belgium this year. (QNA)
