Doha, November 09 (QNA) – Texas A&M University at Qatar, one of the partner universities of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, announced that the Qatari team won the Safety and Social Media Challenge awards in the First Global Challenge competitions held in the city of Geneva, Switzerland recently.

The First Global Challenge competitions witnessed the participation of many teams from 180 countries around the world, so that the “safety” award will go to the teams that set good safety standards that are applied during the competition.

The First Global Challenge is a global tournament designed in the style of the Robot Olympics, which rotates to be hosted by different countries each year, The teams participating in the event cooperate to complete a set of tasks within a competition that focuses on one of the important challenges facing the world, which includes a set of 14 comprehensive engineering challenges, in order to enhance understanding and cooperation among the participating youth.

It is worth noting that the “Social Media Challenge” award is given to teams that complete online challenges, which relate to a set of tasks that teams must complete in order to be able to share the details of their technical and public work with the world and other teams. (QNA)
