Doha, November 10 (QNA) – Medical Corporation (HMC) confirmed that Emergency Departments are always ready and prepared to receive patients with serious emergency cases that need immediate medical intervention.

The Emergency Departments at HMC operate 24 hours a day and provide urgent and emergency care for serious medical cases. Patients who require urgent care can visit any urgent care centers which are operated by PHCC.

Deputy Chairman, Corporate Department of Emergency Medicine at HMC Dr. Aftab Mohammad Umar, said that members of the public with non-emergency medical conditions can visit a relevant health facility for medical treatment.

“The role of our Trauma and Emergency Center is to deliver urgent medical care for the most seriously injured or sick patients,” Dr. Aftab said. “We are committed to treating all emergency cases who comes to the Trauma and Emergency Center, but we do prioritize the needs of those with the most critical conditions first.”
Senior Emergency Physician will be always available to receive any walk in patient and give the advice regarding the most appropriate health facility for the patient according to his condition.

Dr. Aftab said patients with minor conditions, including the flu, backache, a mild burn or earache do not require visiting one of HMC emergency departments and they are advised to visit other health facilities operated by PHCC.

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) operates eight Urgent Care Centers across Qatar, which operate 24-hours a day and offer treatment for non-life threatening conditions such as minor burns, sprains, severe headache or earache, high fever, dehydration, mild flu-like symptoms, sprains and dizziness.

PHCCs Urgent Care Centers are located at: Rawdat Al Khail, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Al Kabaan,Al Sheehaniya,Al Ruwais, Muaither, Abu Baker Al Siddiq and Um Salal
HMCs Urgent Consultation Service also enables patients with medical queries to speak to a physician about their condition over the phone. To access this service, patients can call 16000, select the language, then press 3.

The service operates from 8am to 3pm, Sunday to Thursday.

The call will then be put through to the one of the senior consultants who can access patients medical files and consult with them about their case.
