Dammam, November 12 (QNA) – Tunisia’s assistant coach, Ali Boumnijel, revealed the reason for the delay in announcing the technical staff, led by Jalal Al Qadri, the list of the team participating in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will be held from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18.

Bomnijel said, in press statement that there are players in the European leagues who end their commitments with their teams on the 13th of this month, and therefore they decided that the day after tomorrow, Monday, November 14, will be the date for announcing the final list, in anticipation of any emergency or any injury, and this date is the deadline given by the International Football Association Board (FIFA) to submit the lists.

Boumnijel explained that the technical staff of the Tunisian national team preferred the participation of Youssef Msakni and Ferjani Sassi with their teams in the FIFA Referees Cup tournament in Doha so that the two players play as many matches as possible before the World Cup, which will contribute greatly to their physical preparation to participate in the World Cup, and will make them in the same physical readiness with the rest of the players.

It is noteworthy that Ferjani Sassi joined the Tunisian national team yesterday (Friday) in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and Youssef Msakni is expected to join the team today.

Boumnijel called on the Tunisian fans to stand by the team and support it in the World Cup to achieve honorable results.

The training camp of the Tunisian national team in Dammam will continue until Nov. 13, which is the last stage of preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

After the camp, the Tunisian team will leave directly to Doha to face its Iranian counterpart on Nov.16.

The Tunisian national team will play its matches in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in Group D alongside Denmark, France and Australia, and will start its sixth participation in the World Cup and its second in a row, by meeting Denmark on Nov. 22.

The Tunisian team had played three friendly matches with the teams of Chile, Japan and Brazil as part of the first phase of preparations. (QNA)
