Tokyo, November 13 (QNA) – Belgium’s Thierry Neuville on Sunday won Rally Japan , the final round of the world championship.
Driving for Hyundai, Neuville finished the race 1min 11.1 seconds ahead of second-place Estonia’s Tanak, while Japan’s Takamoto Katsuta finished third after 2 minutes, 11.3 seconds.
World champion Kalle Rovanpera finished 12th, though he had already been crowned 2022 world champion after winning last month’s Rally New Zealand.
Winning Rally Japan, Neuville climbed to the third rank in the championship standings with 193 points after Finnish Rovanpera (225 points) and Estonian Ott Tanak (205 points).
Rally Japan returned this year for the first time since 2010. (QNA)
