Doha, November 16 (QNA) – Kyle Walker and midfielder James Maddison returned to team training for England at Al-Wakra Sports Club, in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which kicks off next Sunday.

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker underwent thigh surgery more than a month ago, while James Maddison suffered an injury during his team’s Leicester City match against West Ham in the English Premier League and was forced to leave the field.

England Manager Gareth Southgate was relieved to see Walker and Maddison taking part the initial training sessions.

The United Kingdom national team is preparing to face Iran on November 21 in Group Two matches. It will play against the US national team on November 25th before meeting Wales on the 29th of the same month. (QNA)
