Doha, November 16 (QNA) – Tunisia defeated Iran 2-0 in a friendly on Wednesday in Doha, as part of both sides’ preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, due to kick off next Sunday.
A 62nd minute goal from Naim Sliti from the penalty spot put the Tunisians in the lead before Ali Al Abedi struck the second in the 69th minute.
Tunisia were drawn in Group D along with France, Australia and Denmark, and their first group stage match in their six World Cup appearance will be on Nov. 22 against Denmark.
Iran will compete Group B along with England, the US and Wales. Their first match will be on Nov. 21 against England. (QNA)
