Abu Dhabi, November 17 (QNA) – The Ghana national team defeated its Swiss counterpart, 2-0, in the friendly match that brought them together in Abu Dhabi today, as part of the two teams’ preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Mohamed Salisu scored the winning goals for the Ghanaian national team in the 70th minute, and four minutes later, substitute Antoine Cimeno added the second goal.
The confrontation witnessed the return of Yann Sommer, the Swiss national team goalkeeper, after a month-long absence due to a torn ankle ligament he sustained, playing for his German team, Borussia Monchengladbach.
Ghana’s national team plays in Group H of the World Cup alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea, while Switzerland’s national team is in Group G next to Brazil, Cameroon and Serbia.
