oscow, November 17 (QNA) – Russian fertilizer exports decreased in the period from March to September of 2022, by 38 percent, compared to the corresponding period in 2021.

Russia Today channel quoted Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin as saying that the anti-Russian sanctions led to a decline in fertilizer exports, as consumers received less than 8 million tons of exports of these products.

Vershinin added that the quantities of exported fertilizers are sufficient to produce 25 million tons of food, or feed 105 million people, indicating that the restrictions imposed on Moscow contribute to a food crisis in the world.

The Russian official stressed that although the United States and the European Union announced the removal of Russian agricultural products, including fertilizers, from the sanctions list, Russian producers and suppliers still face the impact of compliance with the restrictions, specifically with regard to insurance, shipping and banking transactions.
