Doha, 19 November,(QNA)- The Ministry of Education and Higher Education will participate in various events and activities that support the country’s efforts in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The events include Lighted Lanterns Shows at the Doha Corniche in which more than 3,000 students from government and private schools will participate to welcome Qatar’s guests to the World Cup.
In the meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education prepared and posted a distinctive video on the social media in its official account on Twitter’s platform, which includes welcoming and motivational multilingual messages provided by the students from private and international schools that their home countries’ national teams are participating in the World Cup.
At the same time, a number of Government Schools have recently organized special events to reflecting the cultures and to educate the students on the civilizations and the key features of the participating countries. Also included educational segments on the peoples, heritages, arts and their participation in previous editions of the tournament including winning countries and most important players. As well as to highlight the heritage of the state of Qatar and the traditional games popular to the Qatari people.
Also, the Ministry participated in the “Zeina Competition Initiative” organized by the Public Works Authority “Ashghal” for the beautification of the educational institutions buildings.
The initiative aimed to beautify and decorate the facades of schools, universities and properties, as well as public squares, streets and other public services facilities to highlight the celebratory impressions of the event throughout the country to encourage government, private entities, municipalities and members of the community to express the celebration of this mega sport event, and to promote it in line with the State’s efforts to provide the best festive image in welcoming guests and visitors.
In the same context, the Ministry also organized the “Excellence and Creativity” exhibition of technical drawings for students and teachers in schools to celebrate FIFA Qatar 2022. The exhibition included 152 paintings, stereoscopic and photographs from the work of students from 57 government schools, including special education schools, as well as a number of works by teachers and the Ministry employees, reflecting the welcoming and celebrational atmosphere of the tournament, Qatari identity, costume and heritage in addition to the introduction of new stadiums that will host the games and to the previous tournaments and sports events hosted by Qatar.
Also at the beginning of the new academic year, the Ministry organized an awareness campaign for all schools aimed for promoting the World Cup to raise the culture and awareness of students about this universal sport entitlement. Further to the organization of the Young Mondial commentator’s program, in partnership with Alkass Sports Channels, where the best three were recognized from 61 students participated in commenting for limited specific minutes on specific games.
The Ministry also organized the competition titled “If you are an International Referee” in participation of Qatar Football Association’s Referees Committee. Where the best three students were recognized after officiated the refereeing on selected video segments from football matches. As well as a the ministry organized students shows wearing costumes of the national teams participating in the World Cup. (QNA).
