Copenhagen, November 22 (QNA) – Denmark introduced Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in its domestic competitions thanks to a FIFA Forward program funding.

The technology that was initially introduced in 2019 was used in the Danish Superliga and the Danish Cup final, but it is now extended to all competitions.

Head of Referees and Head of VAR at the Danish Football Union (DBU) Michael Johansen hailed the move ands the FIFA support that he said was present at every level of the implementation process.

Johansen told FIFA.com it was quite clear they could not implement VAR in Denmark without FIFAs support, simply because the know-how and knowledge come from FIFA.
