Doha, 23 November, (QNA) – Portugal’s first national football team will play its first FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 match tomorrow, Thursday against Ghana at Stadium 974 for Group H.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammates are gearing up for the eighth appearance of Portugal at the World Cup. Their best achievement was coming third in 1966.

The Portuguese national team count on its captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, to fulfil the country’s dream of securing the title for the first time. Despite the distraction of his contract termination by Manchester United, Ronaldo should be able to focus on having a great World Cup to guide his team to the trophy, after helping them to their only continental title in 2016.

For their part, Ghanas national team hopes to repeat a quarter-finals appearance like they did in 2010. Ghana will rely on Inaki Williams, the brothers Ayew, as well as Tariq Lamptey, who have considerable European-football experience. (QNA)
