Doha, November 23 (QNA) – England captain Harry Kane is undergoing an x-ray on his right ankle on Wednesday before his country’s second match in Group B of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 against the US on Friday.

Kane suffered an injury in his country’s match against Iran and felt it also during England’s training, prompting coach Gareth Southgate to insist that he undergo thorough medical examinations.

England leads the standings of Group C with 3 points, compared to one point each from the US and Wales, who tied 1-1, while Iran is in the fourth and last place without points.

Kane scored 51 goals in 76 international matches and needs two goals to equal Wayne Rooney’s record with the England national team, and he won the Golden Boot when England reached the World Cup semi-finals in Russia four years ago, but he did not find the net against Iran. (QNA)
