Doha, November 24 (QNA) – Cameroon coach Rigobert Song regretted his team’s 0-1 loss to their Swiss counterpart at Al Janoub Stadium on Thursday, in the first Group G game of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Speaking in the post-match press conference, Song said the Cameroonian national team includes a new generation of players, and he did not expect to lose the match. “Yes, we had more opportunities than they did (in the first half) but we didn’t have that finishing touch. That was what made the difference.”
He said the team presented a strong performance in the first half, and the team includes new players, and only 3 players of the team previously participated in the World Cup, adding tension was one of the most important factors in the defeat. Song pledged to do their best to win in the coming matches. (QNA)
