Doha, November 24 (QNA) – The Coach of the national football team of England Gareth Southgate announced today that striker Harry Kane is ready to participate in the match against the USA tomorrow, as part of the Group B competitions of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Kane was a 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Top Scorer. During the second half of his country’s match against Iran last Monday, Kane got injured as a result of which he was unable to complete the match, leaving the pitch in the 75th minute.
England achieved a wide victory of 6-2 in that match.
Southgate confirmed Kane’s readiness, saying that he is well, and that all preparations for the match are set. The Coach explained that Kanes foot was injured more than his ankle, adding that it was a strong tackle, but fortunately Kane overcame it without much damage.
The Coach of the English squad stated in a TV interview that Kane is doing well, and has worked harder individually today, however he’ll rejoin the squad tomorrow, with everything set before the game. Southgate also explained that Kane was examined to verify his fitness, with it being confirmed.
Kane scored 51 international goals for the English national football team and the scorer is only missing two goals to equal the score record of the English squads historic scorer Wayne Rooney.
England is leading Group B standings with 3 points versus a single point for each of the USA and Wales, who tied in their last meeting 1-1, whilst the Iranian national team falling fourth and last place with zero points. (QNA)
