Doha, November 24 (QNA) – Brazil defeated Serbia 2-0 on Thursday in their group G opener in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, at the Lusail Stadium.
A brace from Tottenham striker Richarlison in minutes 62 and 73 gave Brazil the lead.
This win brought the Samba Boys, who pursue their six World Cup trophy, atop Group G with three points ahead of Switzerland on goal difference.
Switzerland defeated Cameroon 1-0 earlier on Thursday.
Cameroon and Serbia come third and fourth respectively in the group standings with no points. (QNA)
