Doha, November 27 (QNA) – The Brazilian national football team is seeking its second consecutive victory in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 facing its Swiss counterpart on Monday at Stadium 974 in the second round of Group G competitions, which also includes Serbia and Cameroon.

The Brazilian national team started its campaign in the tournament by defeating its Serbian counterpart (0-2), and therefore winning tomorrows match will bring the five-time world champion closer to crossing to the next round if Serbia and Cameroon draw in the match on Monday.

On the other hand, the Swiss national team will enter the match with three points, which it also won by defeating Cameroon (1-0) in the first round.

The Brazilian national team will miss the efforts of its star, Neymar, who sprained his ankle during the Serbia match, and left the stadium in the last ten minutes of the match. However, the squad of coach Adenor Leonardo Bacchi (Tite) is full of stars like the duo of Real Madrid, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, along with Barcelona player Raphinha Dias and Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison, who scored twice in the first match.

The Brazilian national team arrived at the World Cup in Qatar, as an extraordinary candidate to break the European hegemony over the World Cup title in the past four editions. The last non-European team to win the title was the Brazilian team itself in the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan led by the phenomenon Ronaldo.

The Swiss national team appeared in the World Cup 11 times but did not achieve remarkable results. Its most prominent achievement was reaching the quarter-finals three times. Meanwhile, it left the tournament in the knockout stage four times, including the last edition in Russia in 2018, and left the rest at the group stage.
