Madrid, November 27 (QNA) – Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez affirmed that he thinks Spain is the strongest team in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Xavi, who won the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa with the Spanish national team, said that the Spanish national team is at its highest level now, adding that he appreciates the Brazilian and French teams, but the Spanish team showed an edge that did not appear on any previous team.

The 42-year-old Xavi added that Spain is the team that has played the best, perhaps along with England in the first game, although England then only managed a draw against the US.

Xavi’s statements come before the expected confrontation between Spain and Germany later on Sunday in the second round of Group E of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The match represents a fateful confrontation for the German national team after its sudden defeat 1-2 against Japan in the first round, which witnessed a landslide victory for the Spanish team over its Costa Rican counterpart with a score of 7-0.
