Doha, November 28 (QNA) – Qatar’s national team forward Almoez Ali said that his side will seek an honorable image in their last World Cup group stage game against the Netherlands – scheduled to be held on Tuesday (tomorrow), to leave the tournament with their heads held high.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ali voiced hopes for a better performance against the Netherlands to bring fans joy and pride, regretting Al Annabi’s inability to advance to the knockouts.

In response to a question by Qatar News Agency (QNA), Ali voiced hopes to net in the World Cup as he did in the Asian Cup, the Copa America 2019, the Gold Cup 2021 and in the European qualifiers, elaborating that his main objective would always be to help the national team in the last match to leave the World Cup in the best way possible.

It was Qatar’s first World Cup appearance, but it will not be the last, he said, adding that the Qatari team (Al Annabi) seeks to reach the next World Cup to compensate for disappointment in this edition.

Qatar played a high-octane game against Senegal to overcome the opening match loss, Ali said, explaining that the team pressed, attacked and scored, but the small details ultimately led to the loss.
