Doha, November 29 (QNA) – Saudi Arabia are looking for qualifying for the second round of the FIFA World Cup 2022 when they meet Mexico at 10 pm on Wednesday at Lusail Stadium in the Group C final round of matches within the group stage. Another Group C match will also be played at the same time between Argentina and Poland.
The Saudi national team began their career in the World Cup with a 2-1 historical win against Argentina with 3 points, but they suffered a 0-2 loss to Poland, making them occupy third place in Group C after Argentina due to goal difference while Poland top the Group with 4 points.
If they win their match tomorrow, the Saudi team’s tally will rise to 6 points and that will allow them to book a place in the round of 16, a repeat of the achievement of the first appearance in the United States of America in 1994.
This means that they may become the top of the group in the event of Argentina’s draw with Poland, or second in the event that Poland win, while goal difference will be invoked to determine the top of the group in the event that Argentina win over Poland.
