Doha, November 29 (QNA) – Senegal qualified for the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 following a 2-1 victory over Ecuador in Group A match on Tuesday at Khalifa International Stadium.

Ismaila Sarr scored for Senegal from the penalty spot in the 44th minute. Moises Caicedo leveled the game for Ecuador in the 68th minute.

Captain Kalidou Koulibaly netted the second goal for Senegal in the 70th minute.

Senegal raised their tally to six points to seal the second spot of Group A to qualify for the round of 16.

The Netherlands defeated Qatar 2-0 in Group A match to secure top place of Group A to qualify for the round of 16. (QNA)
