Geneva, December 06 (QNA) – The World Trade Organization (WTO) expressed in a report issued Tuesday its grave concern over the imposition of trade restrictions by some countries in an accelerating pace during the current period, specially on foodstuff, feed and fertilizers.

Director-General of WTO Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala clarified that 78 measures have been imposed to restrict the exports of foodstuff, feed and fertilizers since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war in late of February 2022, pointing out that out of the 78 measures that have been taken, there are 57 measures still in force that are limiting the foodstuff trade volume, along with feed and fertilizers at the global level.

The report illustrated that a roughly 80 percent of COVID-19-related trade restrictions were revoked during the past period, adducing to data until mid-October 2022. (QNA)
