Doha, December 07 (QNA) – Katara Publishing House has issued 22 books on Wednesday within the events of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) accompanying the world cup tournament.

The topics of the books tackle the most important incidents witnessed by the world cup since the first edition in 1930, along with the careers of Arab and Qatari football stars and the football commentator Yousef Saif, in addition to books that include figures, statistics and incidents witnessed by the tournament where 10 books were translated into English language.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), General Manager of Katara Cultural Village Foundation Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said that Katara Publishing House produces substantial number of releases annually, and has released 22 books that address topics in light of Qatar’s world cup tournament, adding that the house was keen to select 22 books in conjunction with the organization of 2022 edition of the tournament by Qatar, indicating that the books that were translated into English would be distributed in the areas where senior personalities converge at the tournament stadiums and would be available for the people interested in the house.

He said that Katara events during the world cup tournament were consistent with this major event and emulate the cultures of the countries participating in the tournament.

In addition, such releases hold a variety of books, including “World Cup 2022: Football as soft power in the Middle East” by the author Dr. Khaled Al Jaber, which addresses the elements of the soft power in the modern age, including “Football Stars in Qatar” book by Dr. Maryam Al Naimi, which addresses the careers of 27 footballers who constituted the first core of the football launch in the State of Qatar, along with the “Sports Engineering in the World Cup 2022” by the author Eng. Khalid Abdul Rahim al Sayed, which addresses Qatar’s facilities concerned with the world cup and their associations with sustainability. (QNA)
