Kuala Lumpur, December 13 (QNA) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today confirmed Qatar Football Association as the host Member Association for the AFC Champions League 2022 Round of 16, Quarter-finals and Semi-final centralized matches in the West region.

The West Asian of the last 16 pairings will see the defending champions Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia will face off against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai from the United Arab Emirates, while another Saudi side Al Shabab will take on FC Nasaf from Uzbekistan. Qatar’s Al Duhail will meet its fellow Qatar League rivals Al Rayyan, while Al Faisaly of Saudi Arabia will square off with Foolad Khouzestan from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The AFC previously announced the dates for holding of knockout round-of-16 matches on February 19-20, 2023, and the quarter-finals on February 23, before the final on February 26.

The first leg of the final round will take place on 29 April 2023 on the Stadium of the qualified club for the West region, and the second leg is scheduled to take place on 6 May 2023 at the home of the qualified club for the East region, Urawa Reds Diamonds Stadium in Saitama city, Japan.
