Ankara, December 27 (QNA) – Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez revealed that his country had discovered natural gas in the Sakarya field in the Black Sea, adding that it would increase the productive capabilities of Turkey from gas, which amounted to 710 billion cubic meters.

In statements on Tuesday, Donmez said that Turkey is working to construct three pipes to deliver the extracted gas to the land and the gas treatment facility, adding that 85 percent of construction works have been completed.

He pointed out that such plant will be capable of treating 10 million cubic meters in the first stage and will be elevated to 40 million cubic liters in the second stage.

The Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources pointed out that Turkey had discovered 405 bcm of natural gas in 2020, followed by 135 bcm in 2021, and the volume reached 652 bcm, prior to rising to 710 bcm, with the discovery of an additional 58 bcm. (QNA)
