Berlin, December 28 (QNA) – German Economy Minister Robert Habeck, expects a drop in gas prices for consumers at the end of 2023, expressing his hope that prices would be better by the end of 2023, if not at the 2021 level.
Habeck said in a statement today that they will have to put up with higher prices all year round, indicating that, next year, it is likely to expand the infrastructure of floating plants to the extent that LPG imports reach Germany so that they are sufficient, to replace Russian gas imports that are now stopped.
Habeck added that prices will then go back to self-regulating, pointing out that measures to curb gas prices will help ease the crisis until things return to normal
It worth mentioning that the German Government is currently intervening in gas prices by setting a price cap of 12 cents per kilowatt hour, at a certain consumption level.
Germany launched its first floating LPG import plant in the northern German city of Wilhelmshaven, part of Germany’s endeavor to become independent of Russian gas. (QNA)
