Doha, December 28 (QNA) – Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) organized on Wednesday a ceremony on the occasion of the success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and the conclusion of the events of the national day for the state of Qatar 2022.

In his remark during the ceremony, HE CEO of QMC Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al-Thani thanked the wise leadership, the people of the State of Qatar and the residents of the country for the successful organization and hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament, lauding the perseverance and dedication of all workers during the all months of preparation, working hours and media coverage hours that exceeded 19 hours of live streaming on Qatar Television and sports channels, and on the broadcasts of QMC’s eight radio stations speaking Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Urdu.

CEO of QMC expressed his admiration for the honorable image in which affiliates of QMC had portrayed the State of Qatar and the world cup tournament.

In his statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), head of Qatar TV Ali Saleh Al Sada said that the accomplishments made by QMC reflect a joint effort by all affiliates of the corporation with its various sectors, pointing out that all human, technological and logistic efforts were harnessed, in addition to attracting the professionals to come up with an image that best suits the State of Qatar and this global sporting event, as well as the celebrations of the national day which is cherished and loved by the hearts of all.

With regard to the echoes made by the media coverages of QMC, Al Sada said that the hidden media soldiers made evident creativity and innovation, who were actually a pride and support for the institution, adding that what had been accomplished should be taken as a model to build upon it, because the prior stereotype that has been prevalent in the minds of many people outside Qatar was successfully changed, as the entire world saw and celebrated this achievement.

For her part, Supervisor of Urdu Radio at QMC Kholoud Al Hamidi said in a statement to QNA that the Qatar Radio that was established in 1980 has been committed to covering the events in Qatar during this crucial period to convey the voice of the homeland to a substantial category at home, and Urdu speakers from several countries, pointing out that the objective was to communicate the Qatari culture, customs and traditions to these communities, indicating that the percentage of radio followers on social media accounts ranged between 2 million to 3 million followers, while during the events and the promotion of the program to reach out to a larger category, the number of followers exceeded 6 million, and this per se, is substantial paradigm shift, she said.

During the ceremony, the most important stations and accomplishments made by QMC’s TV channels and its various radio stations during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 were reviewed, along with the events of the national day of the State of Qatar.

In addition, a report had monitored the most important accomplishments and the achievements made by Qatar TV, which included hundreds of exclusive broadcasting hours, registered programs, intervals, in addition to monitoring all local initiatives.

The report pointed out that the programs of Qatar TV varied between live and registered broadcastings, where the percentages of live broadcasting reached more than 700 TV hours, while the registered broadcasting hours exceeded 300 TV hours, and through the concerted efforts of all affiliates, the maximum program broadcasting reached a roughly 20 TV hours in a first-of -its -kind challenge.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, other reports were presented pertaining to the coverages made by windows and QMC’s media platforms for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament, which were characterized by quality, and won the confidence of viewers, listeners and visitors of digital platforms.
