Moscow, December 29 (QNA) – Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the inflation in Russia will be about 12% at the end of the year.

“I think we did a good job. The main thing is that we managed to maintain financial and macroeconomic stability. We coped with inflation. This year inflation will be about 12%, although expectations were initially much higher, of course,” he said in televised interview today.

In the meantime, the country’s Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov expected the inflation rate in 2022 to be between 12 and 12.4%.

Earlier, international economic reports said that the Russian economy has been facing difficulties since the start of the Ukrainian war, but Moscow denies these reports, and stresses the strength of its financial and economic indicators. (QNA)
