Doha, December 29 (QNA) – Al Rayyan Club officially presented today at a press conference held at the club’s headquarters and included the official signing ceremony of its new Japanese international defender, Shogo Taniguchi, who joined the club’s team, from Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale Club,
The president of Al Rayyan, HE Sheikh Ali bin Saud bin Ahmed Al-Thani, praised the potential and abilities of the new professional player who signed a contract until the summer of 2025, who is considered as one of the best players in the Japanese national team and he put up high level performance during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

He indicated that the club would conclude multiple new deals with local and professional players to strengthen the team, affirming the strive of the management of the club to support the team and facilitating all the means of its success.

His Excellency noted their hope for an outstanding performance from the team in the new season, with a promise to Al Rayyan’s fans to bring the team back to its right track and normal ranking in the First Division.

On the other hand, Al Rayyan’s Chilean Head Coach, Nicolas Cordova, expressed his pleasure for signing up the Japanese defender and joining the ranks of the team which stands with one point from the past seven rounds of the league.

He stated that they are happy for the joining of the well-experienced new player, who competed with an outstanding performance with the Japanese national team at the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup, and they are aware of their difficult task, nevertheless they will seek to improve the overall results, appearance and standing that will delight the fans of the club.

The player, Shogo Taniguchi, expressed his happiness for joining Al Rayyan club the 8 times winner of the Qatari League championship and play to the team in the coming period, and he hopes to contribute with positive impact on the team’s performance during the competitions in the domestic league and the Asian Champions.

The 31 -Years old Taniguchi, transferred to Al Rayyan to play for two and half seasons after playing 8 seasons with the Kawasaki Frontale club in Japan, he officially signed for during his presence at the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup following the negotiations that began before the beginning of the World Cup.
