Basrah, January 02 (QNA) – The Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced on Monday the full preparation of Al-Minaa Stadium to host the games of group B within the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup tournament in Basrah during Jan. 6-19, 2023.

In his statement on Monday, director-general of the department of regions and governorates affairs at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Taleb Al-Moussawi said that the stadium of Al-Minaa is in standby position in terms of technical aspect, especially after the completion of lighting works to host the tournament.

He added that the stadium is ready for the committees in charge of organizing the tournament, where the implementer company has finalized the works in one of the training facilities that will serve the club of Al-Minaa SC.

In a related context, Basrah Governorate has announced the finalization of roads rehabilitation works that lead to the stadiums, including the customization of some squares and installing the screens for the tournament live streaming, in addition to providing internet service at the sports city stadium.

The opening matches will be held on Jan. 6 between the teams of Iraq (The host), and Oman within group A competitions that includes squads of Yemen and Saudi Arabia, whilst Al-Minaa stadium hosts group B matches that includes Qatar, UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain the title holder, as the competitions of this group will be launched on Jan. 7 with the game between Bahrain and UAE squads.
