Istanbul, January 02 (QNA) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the value of his country’s exports during 2022 stood at more than USD 254 billion.
Erdogan added in a speech delivered during his participation in an event organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly – Istanbul today, that Turkish exports in 2022 increased by 12.9 percent, compared to the previous year, amounting to USD 254.2 billion.
The Turkish president pointed out that his country’s economy grew by 6.2 percent during the first three quarters of 2022, stressing that his government aims to make Turkey among the top ten largest exporting countries in the world.
Erdogan explained that Turkish exports made their way to the markets of 197 countries and regions around the world.
It is noteworthy that the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute, issued recently, showed that Turkeys total exports during the period from January to November of 2022 recorded a growth of 13.9 percent, compared to the same period of 2021, reaching USD 231.3 billion, whilst total imports increased by 36.6 percent, amounting to USD 331.1 billion.
Turkey is seeking to shift to a current account surplus through increased exports and lower interest rates. (QNA)
