Doha, January 02 (QNA) – Al Ahli secured a 28-26 win over Al Wakrah in the opening matches of the Senior Handball Federation Cup Championship 2022 – 2023.
In other matches, Al Arabi achieved a 26-24 victory over Al Khor, while Al Gharafa beat Qatar SC 18-16, and Al Rayyan defeated Al Shamal 28-24.
The Federation Cup is being held without the international players who are with the first Qatari national team preparing for the 28th World Men’s Championship to be hosted by Poland and Sweden from Jan. 11 to 29.
Ten teams are participating in the tournament, and they will play in two groups. The first has: Al Duhail, Al Arabi, Al Rayyan, Al Khor and Al Shamal, while the second is: Al Sadd, Al Wakrah, Al Ahli, Qatar SC and Al Gharafa. (QNA)
