Doha, 03 January (QNA) – Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSFA ) has announced its championships and activities agenda in January, which included distinctive and qualitative sporting events.
In a press conference held by the federation today at its headquarters in Lusail Sports Arena, where the organization of the men’s padel tournament was revealed, which will kick-off at Al Sadd Sports Club on Jan. 29, and will last for four days.
The tournament is for non-professional Qatari youth and includes three categories. The groups will be classified in cooperation with the Tennis and Squash Federation, and Al Sadd Club.
QSFA Director of Events and Activities Abdullah Al Dosari said that the goals focus on promoting the culture of championships in order to provide an opportunity for youth to practice their preferred sports by providing the appropriate place.
In a statement today, he indicated that the QSFA will organize the 7th Qatar Youth Football League, which will kick-off in February at Al-Sadd Club. It will be held in a league or group system in case the number of participating teams increases.
He said that the Qatari family races were announced earlier to take place on January 16 and 30, through which the federation aims to encourage children to practice sports and bring together the family members through a sporting activity, in the country’s public parks, along with expanding the participation among community members, especially the elderly by providing them with a unique opportunity to improve their health through exercise.
Al Dosari added that the federation’s agenda was full of huge sporting events and tournaments amounting to 575 events, and it encouraged those who are interested in sports to participate to enjoy and benefit from the events.
Al Dosari revealed that participation in Al Furjan Football Tournament is open, and it will be staged on Al-Thumama pitches on January 16, in addition to the ongoing preparations of the 90km race Qatar East to West Ultramarathon kick-off on January 16.
The race was postponed from 2022 due to its coincidence with the activities of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as the race that extends from Corniche to Dukhan area is witnessing a great turnout from all nationalities, as the number of participants reached 739 individuals and 12 teams.
He explained that the daily outdoor sports events and activities for the program “365 Days of Activity” are continuing in public parks in Al Rayyan, Aspire, and Al Dafna for men, in addition to sports activities for women at Al Luqta Park and Women’s Sport Committee.
He noted that the Qatar Sports for All Federation will announce new special events for children and adults to emphasize the importance of exercising and pursuing a healthy lifestyle. (QNA)
