Doha, January 04 (QNA) – The statistical bulletin issued by the Ministry of Labor for the month of December 2022, showed that the ministry received 5,616 requests for new recruitment, 2,569 were approved, while the requests to modify the profession totaled 3,376 requests, of which 3,374 requests were approved.
According to the bulletin, the number of requests for work permits submitted to the Ministry in December was about 1,244, including 561 requests to renew the permit, 459 requests to issue a new permit, and 224 requests to cancel issued permits.
With regards to inspection visits to recruitment offices, the statistical bulletin showed that the Ministry carried out about 59 inspection visits to recruitment offices, resulted in 6 warning for removal of violations, while advice and guidance were provided to one recruitment office.
The Labor Inspection Department conducted 3,375 intensive inspection campaigns in various regions in December to monitor the extent to which establishments comply with the laws and ministerial decisions concerned with regulating the labor market in the country. The campaigns resulted in registering 695 violations, and 592 warnings.
Concerning labor complaints, the Labor Relations Department received about 1,757 complaints, of which 389 complaints were settled, and 249 were referred to Labor Dispute Settlement committees.
The ministry received 62 domestic workers’ complaints, of which 23 complaints were settled, and 8 were referred to Labor Dispute Settlement committees, while the Labor Relations Department received 89 reports from the public, of which all were settled.
With regard to the Labor Dispute Settlement Committees, the number of cases referred to these committees in December reached 1,734 cases. The number of decisions by these committees regarding these cases were 378, while about 672 cases remain under procedure. (QNA)
